I (Harjinder Kaur) always felt bad that I could not give a child to my husband. In the first years, I hoped that one day everything would be changed until when 20 years of our marriage erupted and there was nothing like a single pregnancy. I couldn’t keep it to myself anymore and I could break down while alone. The fact is that I never expected to go through what I was going through and at that point, I really got to know how infertility is a major peril. I tried infertility treatments from local hospitals, clinics, and people, but they couldn’t work on me. On one fateful day, my friend told me about Dr. Sofat and I had also seen her on television, but I didn’t draw attention to her. With her advice and testimonies of other friends, I visited Dr. Sofat for the same problem of infertility. She told me that I had to bring my husband (Satpal Singh) too for checkups and tests. We had to travel from Sirhind to Ludhiana to see the doctor and sometimes, we could call her on the phone. Dr. Sofat suggested that we use ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection). We underwent two treatment cycles of ICSI for me to get a successful pregnancy. Our baby was born healthy and there were no major complications that I or my baby faced. We were always in touch with Dr. Sofat and communicated effectively until the day I delivered. I am very thankful to her and her other doctors for helping me to have a baby in my home.
