India‘s IVF and Infertility market expected to grow by Rs.500 crores in next few years

By the year of 2022, India will celebrate 75 years of independence and market for IVF (In-Vitro fertilization) will grow approx 500 crores. There are large numbers of the childless couples who will take the advantage of the artificial medical treatment in order to attain the most blissful parenthood. From the six years from now, India is considered to be the most populated nation with the 150 crores people in the year 2024. Infertility is also increased in the resource-rich people. The lower income groups are more contributing to the population explosion. This also increases infertility among the rich people. This has opened the new and fresh opportunities for the surrogate mothers from the lower income group.

On an average, we are getting the 10 surrogacy proposals every day. It means that nearly 4000 per annum. We usually perform the entire medical fitness test before they could become the surrogate mothers. Most of the surrogated women usually take 5 lakhs for renting of their womb. The money is directly deposited in the bank account of the surrogated mother. This money will help them to plan a future for their kids.

But the surrogating is not only the medical option for the childless couples in order to create their own families. There are other wide ranges of other methods that help them to become parents range from Rs. 1.5 lakhs to Rs. 2 lakhs per couple. The IVF market has been grown at the CAGR by 28 percent. This is expected to grow by $775 millions or Rs 495 crores by 2022 in India.

If we considered according to the expanding market, IFC had founded in 2012, there are 14 IVF centres in different states of India like New Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Nepal. There are also plan to set up 26 new fertility centres by 2020. ¼ of these centres has been established in West Asia and South-East Asia. Indian IVF centres are mostly located in the Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities and towns.

In order to expand more, IFC is going to invest Rs. 50 crores. This company will consider both organic and inorganic routes. We have already invested from the own accruals, we will definitely take the franchise model for the next year. In order to establish a new centre, there is a need for investment between 5 crores to Rs. 3.5 crores. Measurement is of 5,000 sq feet, this also excludes the cost of land. IFC is providing the services to the couples from the near about 50 countries, who are seeking treatment for infertility.
