The best treatment for infertility
The process has been in use for decades and has successfully realized the dream of many infertile patients to become parents. The leading centres in the country have recorded high success rates as we use the latest and modern techniques.
Is it the best option?
Yes, IVF comes with its advantages. It is the ideal treatment option if the male partner has problems with sperm production. It is also an ideal solution if the female partner’s fallopian tubes are blocked or damaged. IVF is the only option for getting pregnant in couples with such problems. It is also recommended if the couple has tried artificial insemination several times and have not succeeded in conceiving with it.
IVF with the woman’s eggs
Usually, In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is carried out using the female partner’s eggs. The technique is possible with other woman’s eggs if there is a problem in the ovulation or egg production of the female. Three or more efforts raise the chances of IVF to 64%.
Phases of the treatment
Before starting the treatment, we diagnose the woman fully. Accordingly, we recommend a treatment methodology. The diagnosis is a 2 to 3-hour process.
Phase 1
Controlling and stimulating the ovaries
It involves the preparation of the ovaries by administering hormones to them. This exercise is aimed at producing more than the usual number of eggs during a cycle. Production of more eggs leads to the availability of more options for fertilization. The progress of the cycle is monitored through ultrasound scans till both the number and size of the follicles are suitable.
Phase 2
Egg extraction and In Vitro Fertilization
The follicles are punctured and retrieved. The woman is put under anaesthesia for the egg retrieval process. The eggs are kept in a nutritive medium and preserved for the fertilization process. Around the same time, the isolation of the motile sperm is also carried out.
Phase 3
Transfer of the embryos
Between the second and fifth days, we carry out the embryo transfer. The best quality pre-embryos are selected and placed in the uterus using a catheter. This phase doesn’t require the use of anaesthesia.
Phase 4
Freeze the embryos which are not transferred
The pre-embryos are identified and deposited in the embryo bank. They are preserved here for being used in subsequent cycles if the pregnancy doesn’t materialize the first time around.
