Step1 : Preparing Ovary For Stimulation
In this phase the ovulation cycle is controlled with the help of pills as prescribed by the doctor. Fertility drug is injected in the uterus of lady so that ovaries should release fertile eggs. This process is very painless and hardly requires 15 minutes to get done. After this phase regular deadlines are set so that the whole procedure can be monitored.
Step 2: Stimulation In Ovary And Monitoring
In normal ovulation cycle only one egg matures but due to the fertilization drug given in IVF technique the ratio of matured eggs increases from one to many. This process takes 8 to 15 days so that the eggs can mature. The doctor will check and monitor you by scheduling appointments in between to check the cycle growth.
The ovaries are stimulated with medicament to develop the of follicles consisting the eggs.
A ) Controle : The ovaries is observe with ultrasounds and / or blood tests, to set the size and quantity of follicles.
B ) Egg Retrieval: this phase is very important and need to take place and complete before the natural ovulation cycle. The eggs need to mature at this stage and thus be ready for retrieval. A needle is placed through the vaginal opening and made to reach the ovary. This entire procedure is guided by ultrasound and egg retrieval process takes 20-30 minutes.
Step 3: Sperm Extraction And Embryo Development
when matured eggs and selected sperm samples are collected then one of the two ways fertilization is performed in the embryology lab.
- Healthy Sperms is allowed and set free to meet the egg naturally and form embryo.
- ICSI: when male partner does not carry health sperm then either through fertility treatment health sperms created of partner or sometimes some other donor sperm is injected in the egg with the help of injection and forced to meet artificially.
Then embryo began to develop in the lab and it develops completely in 3 to 6 days. The best embryo is then selected for transfer.
Step 4: Embryo Transfer
This step only takes 5-10 minutes. In this no anesthesia is given to the lady. The best developed embryo is than placed in the woman’s uterus. The blastocyst test is used to test the best embryo.
Multiple Embryo Transfer : Multiple embryos can be transferred, based on the patients requirement and conditions. The cost depends on the number of embryos and complications. Some people want two-three children at the same time using multiple embryo transfers.
