Both IVF and IUI treatments help couples to get pregnant. However, they differ from one another. IVF stands for In-vitro Fertilization and IUI stands for Intrauterine Insemination. In IVF, a male’s sperm and a female’s eggs are fertilized in the laboratory (or, in other words, outside the body). This fertilization results in the development of the embryo, which is kept in laboratory settings until day 5 of development (also called the blastocyst stage).
